Here's some homey photographs of Nephra and her sisters. Like Memphis, she was born in a litter of 4 girls! I hope they'll enjoy each other's company and become great sisters in time.

Moving into the next phase

For those of you that have been keeping tabs on Exemplar and its progress, we have finally made headway. Upon many arduous months of correspondence and relationship building, we have finally found the perfect new additions to our family. Before the year is out, we'll see a minimum of 2 new members to our brood!

With luck they'll be presented at the show in December!!

Interesting news on ISO standard microchip used in Singapore. If you are planning on importing your cat from overseas, and choose not to use the chips from the country of origin, Pet Call at Geylang can provide you with the chips, which come with its own implanter (!), to be sent to the animal overseas.

Import regulations state that they have to be chipped upon entry, yet only the immigration and AVA can read anything other than the 15-digit chips available locally. Memphis has a USA digit+alphabet ID so her vet here can't read it. Not going to be much help if she ever gets lost.

Last Sunday 2nd July saw our Queen winning not 1, but 3 prizes at the Kawaii Proplan Cat Show (organised by FFSS)

Memphis took home with her, the rosettes for:
2nd Best Allbreed
3rd Best Shorthair
6th Best Cat in Championship

Evan and I are extrememly proud.
Thank you Evan and Josh for showing her while I was at work. It was a harrowing day for all, no less for Memphis, but luck was on our side!

Next shows are in September and December so watch this space.

New Additions

Last Sunday the 7th, fellow FFSS member Nadia, Brought over the kittens and their Mummy that needed to be fostered for some time. What a bunch of cuties! They live happily in the back and the 5 little ones are snug in a big box they cannot scramble out of. Mummy, whom I've since named Cinnabar for her lovely golden colors, seems pretty content, lounging and eating away.

I've never seen a cat eat so much. Poor dear must have all her sustenance taken out of her from the nursing. She's still aggressive toward Memphis so they're kept away from each other for now. I hope to successfully have them introduced in a week or so. Memphis has no clue what they hell is happening. I hope she doesn't turn on me and get jealous and aloof.

CH NILE BABIES MEMPHIS OF EXEMPLAR

My pretty girl got her Championship title & 10th Allbreed Best Cat of Show (Judge Yayoi Satoh) at the Purina/Pro Plan Championship Cat Show. Her very first time showing! We are all so proud of her and news travelled far and wide just to celebrate her winnings. She surely has the makings of a star.

This Sunday she'll be getting professional glamour shots done. We're so excited at home, we've invited some people over to have a look-see. I'll be needing the pictures for the main website. And I want to have a keepsake in membrance of our first mau and the matriach of the Exemplar clan.

The Journey Starts Here

Being the first Egyptian Mau Cattery in Singapore and Asia, I'm making sure I do this with the exact science in mind. It takes a conscious effort to push away that 'love-child' mentality and to refrain from importing the first cutest male I see. Hmm, I wish it were that easy for my own life. Male-order males. What a lovely idea!

I've bought the actual domain for the cattery www.exemplarmaus.com but am still in the midst of building it up. Hence this site's birth. Most important thing to remember about the cattery is that we have the advantage of being numero uno here, we are using the proper method to counter individual breeder cat's phenotype & genotype and we use reiki to promote healthy felines.

Fine exemplars, I'd say!
